This is Skyler Hartsough documenting the blogs.
The composition of the group for this project consists of two people that will attempt to start a program for Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in regards to health care and insurance. The individuals in this group is Damian Aguilara and Skyler Hartsough. Damian is not in our Macro class as he is still in his first year of his MSW program with me at DCFS in Ogden, UT. Learning styles of this group is experiential hands on training. Damian had said "just throw me in the pot and we'll figure it out". My philosophy is very much the same, and my learning style requires a course plan on how to approach the pot. Some people get the ingredients and throw them into the pot as their cooking, and some prep all the ingredients before they boil their water. I think this is where Damian and I differ and will work as a cohesive team unit to figure out this Macro community/organization project.
Our working style is masked with humor of politically incorrect jokes and not sugar coating our cases with niceities. We work for 30 minutes and talk for 5. Our 5 minutes of talking is usually in regards to cases and agency hot topics. We work in the same office so have constant dialogue on others opinions to make light of our work day.
I will be writing the entire paper for this class as Damian is not in our Macro project/community class. There is a chance over the next week that we change after I've consulted with NAMI, School of Psychiatry (U of U), Local hospitals/agencies, and big boss of DCFS in Salt Lake City to see if the our idea is even a viable option per suggestion of our supervisor.
